SK Football Coaching, along with partners Stockport Dynamoes and Mountfield Rovers, are extremely excited to announce the intention to form a Community Interest Company (CIC). primarily centred around building a 3G pitch at a site in SK3.
With generous support from a high profile sportsperson, we announce the plan to build a community football venue for our three football clubs and the wider community, in an area that has been overlooked (with no full-size artificial pitches across the whole postcode area) and has a large number of children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The venue will not only house training and matches for our clubs - who have all faced significant hardship when it comes to securing facility space - but become a hub for improving football and sporting opportunities for the local community, particularly supporting the signifcant percentage of families living with deprivation. We plan to:
Host free football sessions for children from SK3 on free school meals
Create a bursary scheme to fund children on free school meals to join one of our teams
Develop free holiday course provision, including healthy lunches, for children on free school meals
Create a Girls' Emerging Talent Centre to complement our Wildcats programmes and girls' teams
Develop primary school football and host events
Open our venue for usage of our local schools, particularly those with minimal facilities/space for sporting activities
And of course much more, with ambitious development plans in the pipeline as the project progresses...
Our next step is to acquire the leasehold on the land, whereupon we will need the support of our local council. With a project that will improve the lives of so many children and young people, alongside the support of a famous sportsperson, we're sure it's a project the community will want to get behind!
That's not all, there will be some exceptional opportunities to support this incredible project with a limited number of sponsorship packages to be made available. This will be announced in due course.
Watch this space as something truly remarkable comes to an area that has been overlooked for far too long.
